When it comes to choosing your wedding venues, you are faced with two choices, the council registry office, which may or may not be very beautiful but serves the purpose, or a site that is licensed for civil partnership ceremonies. These range from restaurants and hotels to castles, stately homes or even the London Eye.
Some are gay friendly wedding venues others are just venues but don't be surprised if you need to book nine months or a year in advance, all the more time to save up.
One idea could be to opt for a quick registry office, to get the official part out of the way and then engage a wedding celebrant to hold a more meaningful service which can be held anywhere, even outdoors which will give you a lot more flexibility in the range of venues you can use.

Some of the more professional gay friendly wedding venues will also have a range of services that you can use, from a wedding co-ordinator who can arrange flowers, music, help with seating plans and generally make your day go smoothly.

If you are using an hotel, it may be worth asking if they can supply everything, that way your whole reception is covered, including the rooms for your guests. Problem solved.

If you plan to use a listed building, such as a castle or stately home then they may have some restrictions on what you can do there. These gay friendly wedding venues may even have their own list of caterers, entertainers etc who are sympathetic to working within the possible delicate fabric of the building so it is worth checking the wedding venue before you make a booking.
