When planning your gay wedding day, you need to decide on a key colour that will run throughout your ceremony. This will apply to all types of weddings, themed or traditional.
You may want to check at your wedding venue, in case there is a strong colour in the room, that will have to take into consideration when deciding what your colour is going to be.
You can take your chosen colour as far as you wish. Some people will plan to use it from the wedding invitations and place cards to the dresses for maids of honour and brides maids and onto the flowers and any decorations in the wedding venue.
Colour can be used to dictate the mood of the occasion, reds for passion, blues and greys for tranquility, yellows and orange for an uplifting feeling.
Mixing and contrasting colours can be fun too, red with gold or purple with silver hints at luxury and a powder blue on white will create a fresh out door feeling.
If you go for the traditional white, you can blend different shades and then add a dash of colour with flowers.
Visit one of the large department stores to look at their cloth samples to get an idea of what is available. It will also give you an indication of the costs.
Once you have decided upon the colour, you could include a piece of material with your invitation, that will give your guests a chance to co-ordinate their outfits to your theme, which may improve the wedding pictures.
This is your big day so whatever you decide is going to be fabulous.
